Reece Grant joins Croydon Athletic

Croydon Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Reece Grant, who joins the club from Hastings United.

The 30-year-old has a wealth of experience across the football pyramid. Early in his illustrious playing career, he made a major impact in the Isthmian League with Heybridge Swifts, netting an impressive 20 goals in a single season. He also enjoyed a spell at Kingstonian, before making his mark higher up in the divisions.

Over the years, our new centre-forward has made appearances for a plethora of established National league and National League south sides, including Braintree Town, Maidstone United, Aldershot Town, Hemel Hempstead Town, Chelmsford City, and most recently Welling United.

Grant won the National League South with Maidstone United in the 2020/21 season and scored in the play-off final for Braintree Town against Hampton and Richmond in a 1-1 draw which Town won 4-3 on penalties.

In October 2024, Grant returned to Isthmian South Central division as he joined Rayners Lane, featuring four times before moving to Hastings United. His latest stint came at Hastings United, but now he makes the switch to the Mayfield Stadium to become Croydon Athletic’s latest experience-based signing.

When speaking about joining the club, Grant said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Croydon Athletic, it is a club with ambition and I cannot wait to get out there and help the club push towards success.”

When speaking about how the move came about, Grant said: “I believe timing is key. I had conversations with Danny Young last season but the timing was not right. This summer we have spoken and everything felt perfect. The ethos and direction of the club makes it somewhere I feel I can call home.”

After building experience up and down the country, Grant will now take on a new challenge of wearing the number 10 shirt for Croydon Athletic!

Everyone at Croydon Athletic would like to extend a warm welcome to Reece Grant— we’re delighted to have you on board!
