The Combined Counties Football League have issued details of the Play-Offs and with three games to play this could effect the Rams.
The situation has been made complicated by the number of games that have been postponed due to poor weather. In the other Leagues the situation is worse but there is still plenty of football to be played. Whilst the Premier South Division will conclude on Saturday 27th April as expected the League have determined that because Jersey Bulls find themselves in a position of hosting a Play-Off Semi-Final then this will be played on Saturday 4th May along with the other Divisions.
The Play-Off Finals will then be played on Tuesday or Wednesday, 7th or 8th May. That is unless Jersey Bulls make it through the Semi-Final in which case it could be played on Monday 6th May, a Bank Holiday, but only if both teams agree.
Jersey Bulls and Knaphill will finish 2nd and 3rd in the Division. This means that they will host the Semi-Finals. Who finishes in which place will be determined when they play on Saturday 27th April.
Tadley Calleva, ourselves, Redhill and Alton can all reach the remaining two play-off places. Strangely, Tadley Calleva and Redhill will complete their games tomorrow, in the case of Redhill and on Wednesday in the case of Tadley Calleva. We are able to reach the play-offs by securing just 3 points from our remaining three games starting with Farnham Town at home tomorrow evening.
Who finishes in those Play-Off places will not be known until the games have finished on the 27th. It will also not be known to around 6pm or just after as unlike the rest of the games, Jersey Bulls’ game does not kick-off until 4pm.
The Final of the Play-Offs is played on the ground of the highest place team in the league. So, whoever finishes 2nd are guaranteed the Final if they progress; the teams finishes 3rd could be at home if the runners up fall at the Semi-Finals and if both the top two fail to progress then the team who finishes 4th will be at home.
It may be disappointing news for supporters of whichever team faces Jersey Bulls. As the game will be played on a Saturday afternoon then it won’t be able to be streamed live whereas it would have been had it been played at another time.
The Rams target is to secure those three points to guarantee being involved and that is the most important thing.
