The Rams controlled much of the first half, with the defence holding strong to frustrate Eastbourne’s attacking efforts. However, tensions flared in the 19th minute, as Ibby Akanbi was booked for a late challenge. Despite a few nervy moments, Croydon took their 1-0 lead into the break.

Eastbourne came out with intent after the restart, making key substitutions in the 62nd and 63rd minutes to swing the momentum in their favour. The match took a dramatic turn in the 65th minute, when Luke Dreher was shown a controversial red card for an alleged incident in the box. This decision, paired with the award of a penalty, left the Croydon bench incensed.

Eastbourne’s James Hull converted the resulting penalty in the 73rd minute, levelling the scores at 1-1. The Rams responded by introducing fresh legs, with Michael Phillips, Junior Savane, and Walter Figueira all entering the fray to steady the ship.

Despite playing with ten men, Croydon held their ground against increasing Eastbourne pressure. Solid defending from Cian McCarthy and several saves from Tangara ensured the Rams secured a valuable point.
