Croydon Athletic Secure Three Key Signings for the Season
Croydon Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of three exciting players as the club continues to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the season. With a mix of experience and youth, the new arrivals promise to add depth and quality to the team.
James Dunne
The experienced midfielder, James Dunne, joins from Ashford United, where he has been a standout performer this season. The 35-year-old brings with him an impressive career, having played for notable clubs including Portsmouth, Cambridge United, Swindon Town, and Dover Athletic. A box-to-box midfielder with a strong presence on the pitch, Dunne has made 35 appearances for Ashford United this term, scoring five goals. His wealth of experience and leadership will be invaluable for Croydon as they look to push up the table.
Nathan Mavila
Nathan Mavila, a dynamic left-back, also arrives at Croydon Athletic after a varied and international career. Mavila, 29, began his career at West Ham United, before making moves across the UK and beyond, including stints in Canada with Cavalry FC and Pacific FC, and in Sweden with Brage. Known for his pace and attacking ability, Mavila most recently played in the Jordanian Pro League with Al Faisaly. His experience in top-flight football across multiple countries will bring a wealth of talent to the squad, adding depth to the defence and an attacking edge down the left wing.
Akinboye Ajayi
Finally, Croydon Athletic are delighted to welcome 21-year-old centre-back Akinboye Ajayi from Basildon United. A promising young talent, Ajayi has already caught the eye this season with Dartford, where he began the campaign. His solid defensive performances and strong aerial presence make him an exciting addition to the Croydon backline. The club is confident that his development will continue at Croydon, where he will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to the team’s success.
Exciting Times Ahead
Manager Keith Millen and the entire club are thrilled to have these new signings on board. With their experience, talent, and drive, James, Nathan, and Akinboye will undoubtedly play an important role in the club’s ambitions for the remainder of the season. The new additions are sure to be key figures in the team’s push for a playoff place.
